Player Code of Conduct
- Refrain from verbal abuse and foul language/gestures towards teammates, opponents, spectators, coaches, referees, officials prior to, during, and following any Eurostar Academy Inc program, activity, game, practice or event.
- Respect all participants at all Eurostar Academy Inc programs, activities, games, practices or events.
- Refrain from disputing the decisions of all coaches and referees prior to, during, and following any Eurostar Academy Inc program, activity, game, practice or event.
- Refrain from participating in any physical violence or threats prior to, during, and following any Eurostar Academy Inc program, activity, game, practice or event.
- Refrain from participating in acts designed to hurt feeling or cause emotional/mental damage to any participant; prior to, during, and following any Eurostar Academy Inc program, activity, game, practice or event.
- Any property damage done by an Eurostar Academy Inc participant will result in suspension and have the parent of the player responsible for the full restitution to the property owner.
- Players are at the Academy to provide a strong performance, and that the game result is secondary to using the game as development
- Refrain from wearing jewelry or hats during games and practices.
- Refrain from all types of harassment, discrimination and bullying.
- Refrain from horseplay and disruptive acts prior to, during, and following any Eurostar Academy Inc program, activity, game, practice or event.
- While representing Eurostar Academy Inc all players will follow all rules laid out by the Staff Coach and/or Academy Managers.
- While representing Eurostar Academy Inc at travel events, nobody other than teammates, chaperones and staff are permitted in a player’s hotel room.
- Refrain from being involved with alcoholic beverages, drugs, or tobacco products during Eurostar Academy Inc programs, activities, games, practices and events.
- Academy will not permit whining, grumbling, horseplay or other disruptive acts during practices, games, travel or outings.
Player Contract
- I agree to follow the player and parent code of ethics.
- I agree to arrive at practices and games for the designated time with all equipment and uniforms provided.
- I agree to attend all games, unless an acceptable reason is provided to the Staff Coach prior to.
- I agree that all practices begin at the designated time.
- I agree to bring the appropriate amount of water or sports drinks to ensure proper hydration at all times.
- I agree to wear the designated Eurostar Academy Inc training kit at all practices.
- I agree to wear the designated Eurostar Academy Inc game kit at all games and will bring all equipment in the event of kit changing is required.
- I agree to find appropriate transportation to all programs, games, practices, activities and events and it is not the responsibility of the coach.
- I agree to follow all rules at programs, games, practices, activities and events.
- I agreee to play the positions assigned by the coaches.
- I agree to follow nutritional and hydration guidelines and create a healthy lifestyle.
- I agree to seek immediate professional assessment and treatment, if injured and take part in a quality recovery program.
- I agree to train efficiently and effectively.
- I agree to always act in a professional manner while representing Eurostar Academy Inc, my parents, my family and my teammates.
- I agree to seek feedback and assistance from coaches.
- I agree to manage my academics with proper time management and focus.
- I will play with passion and enthusiasm.
Parent Contract

- Refrain from discrimination, harassment and bullying.
- I agree to support the Academy’s Code of Ethics and ensure my child/ward understands the player code of ethic.
- I agree to discuss all concerns regarding a coach, player, spectator or policy with the coach first, followed by the Academy Manager if result is not satisfactory.
- I agree to pay all fines associated with my child/ward’s improper conduct.
- I agree that the responsibility of player and team development belongs to the Staff Coach, Assistant Coaches, Apprentice Coaches and Academy Managers; therefore will refrain from sideline coaching during games and practices.
- I agree not to approach the team until the cooldown and postgame review is completed.
- I agree not to approach a coach prior to a game or practice, as I understand this is time to prepare and ensure ideal development is obtained.
- I agree to follow the 24 hour rule following all programs, activities, games, practices and events. Parents/guardians are not allowed to confront a coach, team or league official to discuss any “negative” game or practice situation with the coaching and management staff until at least 24 hours has passed from the completion of the game or practice.
- I agree to follow the Eurostar Academy Inc Playing Time Protocol.
- I agree not to critique the coaches’ decisions or team’s performance or a player’s performance during a game or practice.
- I agree to foster the development of teamwork and culture.
- At U13 and up, I agree to teach my child/ward that they should be accountable for communication with the coach regarding development, feedback and absenteeism.
- Communicating before the game that you are not coming will result in automatic one game suspension the following game. You need to give us 4 days notice so that we may adjust rosters accordingly. If you got sick in that time frame a doctor’s note will have to be submitted, otherwise the suspension will stand.
- I agree to focus on the development and opportunities provided at Eurostar Academy Inc and not the game results.
- I agree that when Academy Teams are travelling all players must remain with the Academy at all times during the showcase events.
- I agree that to consider taking the Online course Respect in Sport Offered by the RIS Group. The course is available here.
- Children have more need for example than for criticism.
- Attempt to relieve the pressure of the competition, not increase it. A child is easily affected by outside influences.
- Show respect to your child’s coaches and officials. Many coaches are volunteers giving of personal time and money to provide a recreational activity for your child.
- Applaud good plays by your team and by members of the opposing team.
- Do not openly question an official’s judgment and honesty. Officials are symbols of fair play, integrity, and sportsmanship.
- Accept the results of each game. Encourage your child to be gracious in victory and to turn defeat into victory by working towards improvement.
- Remember, your children are involved in organized sports for their enjoyment, NOT YOURS!
- Encourage your child to always play by the rules.
- Teach your child that honest effort is as important as victory so that the result of each game is accepted without undue disappointment.
- On game day, officials should be treated with respect before, during, and after the game.
- Professional respect should be mutual and there should be no demeaning dialogue or gesture between the official and the parent.
- Parents / visitors should not be within the bench area, except at half time
Board Member’s Code of Conduct
The board of directors is committed to teamwork and effective decision-making. Towards this end board members will:
- Endeavour to represent the broader interests of members and/or stakeholders
- Seek to balance their contribution as both an advisor and learner.
- Be honest with others and true to themselves
- Refrain from trying to influence other board members outside of board meetings that might have the effect of creating factions and limiting free and open discussion.
- Be willing to be a dissenting voice, endeavor to build on other director’s ideas, offer alternative points of view as options to be considered and invite others to do so too.
- On important issues, be balanced in one’s effort to understand other board members and to make oneself understood.
- Once a board decision is made, support the decision even if one’s own view is a minority one.
- Not disclose or discuss differences of opinion on the board with those who are not on the board. The board should communicate externally with “one voice”.
- Respect the confidentiality of information on sensitive issues, especially in personnel matters.
- Be an advocate for the organization and its mission wherever and whenever the opportunity arises in their own personal and professional networks
- Disclose one’s involvement with other organizations, businesses or individuals where such a relationship might be viewed as a conflict of interest (see Conflict of Interest Policy).
- Refrain from giving direction, as an individual board member, to the executive director or any member of staff.
- Refrain from investigating or discussing the executive director’s performance with staff members or stakeholders without board authorization
